View Full Version : How to unformat headers and footers.

I have Office 2002, SP3. I use OmniPage Pro v 12 to generate word documents. OmniPage thinks it's doing me a favor to place text at the top of the page into a header format and text at the bottom of the page in a footer format. Usually, this is text that does not belong in either a header or footer. Since my documents are long it is a pain to cut the text from the headers/footers, paste it into the document, and then change the formatting of the headers and footers the way I want them. The automatic formatting also interferes with graphics at the top or bottom of the page.

OmniPage offers no help on how to prevent this from happening. What I would really like to do is to set OmniPage so that it does not create headers or footers. Apparently that is impossible; but if anyone reading this knows of a way to do that, I would love to hear about it.

Lacking a way to fix the problem in OmniPage, Please tell me a way use Word to delete all header and footers, yet take the text therein and place it into the main document.

Thanks!

Hi Gary,

This would only be possible using a macro (VBA), but nigh on impossible for
anyone to program who doesn't use the same software and setup you have. Getting
the text out of the headers/footers is no problem. But putting it back into the
proper place in the text flow... unmanageable at such a remove.

Thanks.

I think I can train OP to not format headers and footers. That should
fix it.
