Upgrade from 5.0 to 2000

I've upgraded from WIN 98SE to XP Home OS

Vsio Technical Plus 5.0 installed and working on XP.

Visio 2000 Technical Upgrade installation will not recognize currently
installed Visio 5.0 to meet upgrade requirements. (message: "This is an
upgrade but Setup cannot find a Visio product on this computer. . . . If
you are upgrading from any other Visio product, please enter the serial
number . . ."

Checking the "About Visio 5.0" file shows no serial number, nor was one
required to install the software. Ergo - DEAD END

NOTE:

1. The upgrade installation DID WORK under WIN 98SE.

2. WIN XP Home Edition seem to not know where to look for 5.0 config data.



Any ideas on a work-around for this problem ?



I see by other postings that I am not alone with this problem, and of course
the nice lady with the lovely Indian accent who answered the Microsoft help
line was of no help.

You need to call Microsoft to get the serial number for Visio 5.0. For
