Hi,

Maybe I can help you cause I am using Windows XP SP2 with
Microsoft FAX and Office.

To send fax converting from Outlook mail message, "printing" it
with Microsoft FAX is the correct method.
This printing is to be done choosing file-print in your new
message composing window and selecting Microsoft FAX as
your printer.

2. choose in accounts box the Fax Transport Service

Your step2 IS NOT necessary. "Account" does not do anything
with sending FAX in Office XP.

Microsoft FAX will take over the task once you "print" the message,
and

3. in the "To" box I write: "[fax:111-111-1111]"

This recipient fax number must be input while Microsoft FAX is
processing your message.
The message sent is then saved in FAX console not in Outlook
after all faxing process is done.

If you have Symantec "WinFAX 10.X" with your Office XP, things are
more simpler, just pushing FAX button icon in Outlook will show you
the FAX message composing window.
You can do all tasks in the window. In this case FAX message
sent is saved in Outlook2002 if you set so.

Hope this helps.

But whenever i try to send a fax, i recieve back a message to the inbox
