Default error message, general protection fault

This page has a driver for Windows 98
http://www.voodoofiles.com/6651
It received very good reviews.
This one has no reviews, but it is a Windows 98 file.

Download the driver, there should be instructions.

I did go to the website, but it said that the information applied to newer
versions of office. I didn't know if it would work for office 2000. And I
also followed your outlined instructions to find out what the driver is that
I have. It is 3dfx Voodoo3. So what should I do next?

Windows will always tell you have the best driver. You obviously don't. Did you go
to
the web site suggested and look around for a newer driver?

Thanks. I went there and followed the instructions to update the driver. It
ultimately told me that I have the best driver. I am pretty sure that the
problem is something in "office", and also my video card......and I will just
have to limp along until I can upgrade to a new computer. Hopefully in the
near future. I do appreciate all your help. I have learned a great deal,
and I don't feel like as much of a dummy as I was before.
Gratefully,

Okay, so I know that I am running a dinosaur, and unfortunately, I am not in
a position to get a new one at this point. So, if all the bickering and name
calling is over.......does anyone have a solution for me? I don't even know
what to look for as far as what my video driver is called. I would love to
have someone help me by phone if possible. But I don't want to open a can of
worms by posting my phone number or asking someone to post theirs. How do I
go about this? And I do thank you all for your helpfulness (most of you....)

Microsoft has supplied the link to the VooDoo drivers in the support
document I
gave
to the poster. It is a commercial web site, but it sure does have a lot of
VooDoo
drivers.

I have a Voodoo3 card and I can tell you that the drivers are available but
as
Sarah
pointed out Voodoo went bye-bye ages ago. (System is 5½ yrs old, runs XP
Pro
w/
Office 2003 Pro just fine, thank you.)

It's me again....I went to the voodoo website, but I wasn't sure which
driver

I need. And the version of publisher I am using is in office 2000. All
the
programs listed on the support.microsoft site were 2002 or higher. Now
what?

I'm sorry to be such a computer dummy!
