Default Ooops... Table woes partt 2!

Jean-Guy
Some time ago I asked a similar question here and this is what Suzanne
Barnhill responded. I am sure she will not be offended if I quote it he
If auto resizing is still enabled (Table | Properties | Table | Options),
you'll see some strange behavior.
Note that the effect of Shift and Control is reversed between cell
boundaries and ruler markers. For more on this, see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/TblsFl...ableBasics.htm. Also, if you want
to set specific widths for columns, you're much better off using the old
Cell Height and Width Dialog (see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/TblsFl...ePropProbs.htm).

Ooops. I was about to add that the first annoyance does not happen all the
time. Just some documents on occasions.

2. Very often there is a mismatch in the table column alignment between

the
ruler and the table itself. Let's say I want to widen a column, so I grab
its left handle on the ruler and slide it to the right. It works, except
that very often the whole table is offset to the left on the ruler... very
strange...
I Googled it up and did not find anything on this... am I the only one who
has ever seen this, or is it normal but I am missing something obvious?

TIA
