Default How to start sending a fax during the telephone conversation?

Your suggested way requires 3 times more calls. Many people would not like
to receive a fax from unknown source (if fax calls by itself), they would
not be sufficiently sure that the fax is from me.

If you are using a fax card in your computer to send the fax, usually what
you want to do requires two separate phone calls. First: call the person
that is to receive the fax and tell them you are going to send it. Hang

up.
Send the fax. Allow time for the fax to be sent and the fax hardware to

hang
the line up. Now, you can call the person again, if you want, to find out

if
they received the fax.

If you are using a fax service to which you connect over the Internet

using
cable or ADSL service, this does not apply.

I have to persuade the person to start receiving first.

Of course the line is busy.
Hang up.
Send the fax.
Fax software must have exclusive access to an analog phone line.

The line is not "busy". I want to start sending a fax to the person
with
whom I have the telephone conversation.

Like as you can not open other connection with the same telephone
line, you can not send fax with the same line that is "busy".
