Default Bug? Outlook 2003 can't handle LDAP, but Outlook Express 6 could??

on second thought, lets Google first

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=to...iteria&num=100

see if the first two help.

not that I know of, but let me check with people who use ldap more often
than I do.

Oh, okay, got it! Yes, it's set to 100. I even tried dropping it to 20,
and got the same result- and I even tried 10- same result. I also
increased
the timeout to 120 seconds. Is there a registry hack for this?

Thanks,

-Thomas

is should be right above the field where you enter the search base and
default is 100 in my version.

Diane, thanks for the quick reply! Search base is my company's org
unit
and
domain (example: ou=staff,dc=nowhere,dc=org), but I'm not sure where
to
set
the max # of displayed contacts. I get the same error even if I
search

on
an un-common last name.

Thanks,

-Thomas

Hello everyone; I have an annoying problem- I just upgraded to

Outlook
2003,
and configured my company's LDAP server just as I did for Outlook
Express
6.
When I create a new mail message, and click on "To", the "Select

Names"
dialog box appears. Then I type a last name into the "Type Name or
Select
from List" textbox. When I choose my company's LDAP directory from

the
drop
down, I get the message "Unable to display results because too many
entries
in the Internet Directory match your search criteria."

Once this error occurs, I can then click on Advanced-Find and type

in
a
last name. Then, when I click on OK (in Advanced/Find), the
results
from
my
company's LDAP server appear.

It seems to me that Outlook 2003 is trying to load the ENTIRE ldap
server
in
at once just to display all the names! I don't want the names to
be
displayed, I want to be able to do a search first. Is there a way
to
configure this? Or is this a bug?

I searched the 'net, but most of what I found was dealing with

Outlook
2k
or
XP- nothing with Outlook 2003.

Thanks,

-Thomas
