Default Ooops... Table woes partt 2!

If this is happening just in a specific document, I would suspect corruption
in the document. It is happening in all documents, I'd investigate display
issues or problems with the Registry Data key.

Ha! Yes I am aware of that, This is cell padding. I have no problem with
that.

What I am trying to explain is that normally, if you drag a column border
from the ruler, you can draw an imaginary vertical line from the place you
drag on the ruler (the handle) down to the column border on the page. The
column border on the page will line up exactly with the handle on the

ruler.

What I frequently experience is that the handle on the ruler is offset to
the left (usually) between ¼ and ¾ of an inch. So, the imaginary vertical
line from the ruler will be to the left of the cell border (or column
border) being moved. Even worst, the graphic representation of the handle

on
the ruler are offset, but in fact they are not! In this case I have to

guess
were the handle is and click were it should be on the ruler, not were I

see
it (I see it offset to the left, but only the image is offset, Word still
"sees" it where it should be, but somehow displays something different!).
This can be most annoying when you want to add a tab in a cell, you click

on
the ruler to add the tab and either nothing happens because even though it
looks that I clicked between the cell handles, I actually clicked exactly

on
the "invisible/ghost" handle, or if the offset is wider than the cell, I
could even add the tab in the cell to the right of the one I was aiming

for
on the page...

Does that make any sense?

Very annoying and strange... And I swear I am sober and do that I am not
making this up!
I guess it only happens to me because I have not seen any post regarding
this problem.

Cheers.
