The forms I referred you to were for Excel, so I don't know why Publisher
would come into play unless you were trying to use the Publisher ones. Most
versions of Office XP did not include Publisher (only the OEM version and a
special limited-edition version, IIRC), but Publisher alone is not terribly
pricey. I certainly wouldn't upgrade to Office 2003 just for this; if you
do, make sure the "boss" pays for it!

IMO, what should matter for an inventory is the content, not the
appearance.
Moreover, it may be that Excel is more suitable for this than Word. I
