How to have word print edge to edge??

Have you tried a photo setting? That is the only way I can get edge to
edge printing in Publisher. It will use more ink. If you are okay with
that, it could be your solution.

HP wont help me because they say that it is word that causes the problem.

Try changing the setting in the printer Properties before starting Word.

This means that it IS word that causes the problems - the printer
driver settings are never used in word only the default printer
settings - anyone who knows a work around for edge to edge printing?

The printer setting are set to 'print to edge' and the margins are set
to 0. There are absolutely no problems when printing from Excel with
exactly the same settings. I don't think the printer driver is able to
distinguish between word and excel so th eproblem must be located in
word!

The limits of the print area in Word are set by the printer driver.
If the printer is capable of printing to the edge as you indicate,
there will probably be a setting in the driver (probably relating to
photograph printing) that allows it to do so. This is not something
controlled by Word.
