What you state is correct. Remember though, you're trying to use code
contained within an mdb to: close itself, then reopen - a desirable, but
impossible task.

Thanks. Although I've already read about how it has to be closed before it
can be backed up. But When you click on the Back up Database option under
Database Utilities It closes the MDB you have open, backs it up, and then
reopens the file. That's what I failed to mention. Maybe I misunderstood
what I've read?
