Default Linking one table to another table within a word document

I want to cross-refer to values within the tables. It would be easiest to do this with embedded excel worksheets, but I can't get it to work. I've created one workbook with all of my data and I embedded the different worksheets of it in different locations within the document. When I change information in one worksheet, it doesn't show up in the other worksheets. The changes can only be found by double clicking on one worksheet and, when in edit mode, looking at the different worksheets in the same workbook. Is there a way to display the worksheets so that when you change data in one, it can be changed in the appropriate place of another one?

Link in what sense? Cross-refer to values within the tables, or graphically
link the two table objects for formatting purposes?

Hi, I'm trying to link two tables together within a Word document. The

only way that I was successful in doing this, was by linking it to an Excel
workbook and using a new worksheet for each table. Unfortunately, I cannot
use this method because of it's intended purpose. It became too confusing
dealing with two documents rather than one. I either need to link the tables
using embedded Excel worksheets or Word tables. It involves different
formulas etc. Is there any way to do this? Thanks.
