Default i cant avtivate either!!

It's called Bait and Switch, possibly fraud, misrepresentation--who knows.
The problem is that the job I'm trying to get requires it. If I don't need it
at home why would I buy it?

Who's forcing you to buy it?
What's fraudulent about a trial product that you didn't buy the full version
of?

Buy something else and move on.
