If the print job is still being sent printer's queue in Microsoft Word, a printer icon in the status bar is
shown.

In most cases, the printer icon may not appear on the status bar long enough for you to click it to cancel
printing. If this is the case, then background printing is enabled (turned on) and the print job has already
been sent to the printer queue.At this point, you will need to cancel the print job from within Microsoft
Windows. The instructions for this are provided in the post by Herb Tyson [MVP].
