Default distribution lists in Contacts

Correct. The DL can be "shared" by sending it as an Outlook Item to another
user. But any link to the underlying Contact Records from which it was
created is broken.

Apparently, entries in the person Contact address books has the "details"
portion of the entry completed. They have used these single entries to
create an distribution list located in "Contracts." They now want to
share
this distribution list with another but they want the "details" portion of
the entries to travel with the distribution list.

Your message reads like when a distributiion list is created only the name
and email address make up the components of the list, which does make
sense.

Thanks for the information.

No. DL's contain no Contact detail other than name and email address.
What sort of sharing are you trying to achieve? Are you using Exchange
Server?

Can a distribution list in someone's personal Contact lists be moved or
shared with another person where the detail portion of each contact
also
is
shared?
