Default "Locking" the tasks-bar

Thanks, Diane. I think I got it. You had me copy the "Master" view because
every time I click on Subject or whatever else I click on, I can't go back to
the old Master, but have to move on to a copy.

Thanks.

No, you can't control views with macros.

Try this: create the view you like then go to Views, Current view, Define
views and copy the current view - name it Master view and make a few copies.
Apply a copy as your view and when you mess one up, apply the next. Every
few times, go back to the Define views dialog to delete the messed up views
and copy the Master again. After you are more comfortable using outlook
you'll either stop accidently changing the view or will be much faster as
fixing it.
