Default is there a way to print a check register book?

Primo cannot be used to create fillable forms. You need Acrobat or some
other third party software, and it won't be free.

You need Acrobat (the real thing, not the reader), or any pdf creator
cabable of turning the pdf into a fillable form.
Create your form in Pub, Word, or from a scan (or whatever), pass it to
your
PDF creator then you create data fields where you want to on the
page/form.

I have primo pdf creator, but haven't done much with it (just save
Publisher files in it, to email to people who can't open Pub. files) and
have Adobe Illustrator CS2, I occasionally focus on "trying" to learn,
which might have a pdf creator built in? Of course, Illustrator seems to
create ai files. I just like to learn all every chance I get.

I wonder if there's a list somewhere that says what programs will
use/open what files. But then there's also the different years/versions of
them too.

| You shoulda just made a fillable form with the pdf...that'd work
really
| snappy and neat :-)
|
|
| I don't know what you mean?
|
| I don't know anything about setting up pdf, I try changing it, I
tried
| print multiple images and it only printed a small one (one) on the
paper.
|
| I tried so many ways I ended up with a pile of scrap paper (LOL)

| | I can tell you that I didn't have to jump thru hoops last year
when I
| | opened new new checking accounts. I really just wanted two small
| savings
| | accounts but the bank rep said that I'd be better off with
checking
| | accounts. Both are tied to our names so I can go online and access
all
| of
| | my data with one log-in. My husband was not with me when I started
them
| so
| | I couldn't add his name to the account. It's been like that for
years -
| | many years prior to 9/11. We recently added him just in case
something
| | should happen to me.
| |
| | To tie this all back to your original post, Publisher is *not*
the
| right
| | program. Money, Accounting Express, Quicken - yes. Use your copy
of
| | Publisher to make cards, newsletters, posters, etc and you'll be
a
| much
| | happier person.
| |
| | I think the point about my daughter and checking accounts was
she
had
| | moved there from FL and the bank she had in FL doesn't have any
branches
| in
| | VT. So they didn't seem to want that as "credit". They told her
(and
me,
| I
| | called once and asked if she could open a checking account if I put
my
| name
| | on it, too, but they said they still had to go by her) it was
because
of
| | homeland security. She would have to open a savings account and
"use
it"
| | (like put in money, buy money orders from the bank to pay bills,
| deposit,
| | etc to show it was active). The woman I talked to said it didn't
apply
| to
| | small town banks like in VT, but the rules were still there, and
they
| had
| to
| | follow them. She said they were afraid terrorists in foreign
countries
| would
| | use fake names to set up accounts and deposit large amounts of
money
and
| | keep it there until it was needed for something. She seemed to
think
it
| was
| | odd herself, and said "maybe it's a big city thing" My daughter
had
| moved
| | from FL, and the bank she had there wasn't in VT (where she had
bought
a
| | house and moved to) she was divorced and banks before FL had been
in
her
| | husband's name, too. It was just a hassle, she found the credit
union
| much
| | different. Now she is established (at the credit union) she
probably
| could
| | easily open a checking account at the bank, but now she doesn't
want
one
| | there.
| |
| | Anyway, I have decided making a check register doesn't work in
| Publisher,
| I
| | thought I could use one of the booklet (pages and folds, etc)
templates,
| | etc.
| |
| | I ended up printing out the pdf of the register page. scanning it
to
my
| | computer, saving it as a jpg, then after finding out it didn't work
good
| in
| | Publisher I just printed out pages of it (on both sides) cut them
to
| size,
| | stapled them together with a piece of cardstock on the back.
| |
| | It worked BUT, I think I will aim at getting a bunch of them
from
| the
| | bank to have on hand from now on.

| | I write maybe half of what you do, if that. I do everything
online
| except
| | for depositing the occasional check I receive.
| |
| | It's really hard to get a checking account now. Because of
| Homeland
| | Security (for one thing) or maybe it's the Patriot Act. You have
to
| be
| | there in person to get an account (you know, terrorists might
open
a
| bank
| | account ) and then you need some high credit score. When we
moved
| back
| to
| | VT in 1997 I called a bank, they sent me forms I sent them back
with
| a
| | deposit and it was waiting when we got here. Three years ago, my
| daughter
| | moved here from FL (she had a Bank of America account there but
they
| | don't have them in VT, nearest one is 80 miles away) she
couldn't
get
| a
| | checking account. She was buying money orders to send to her BOA
| online
| | account, or putting money in my acct and I'd give her checks.
They
| kept
| | putting her off. Said if she openned a savings account and used
it
| for
| a
| | few months. She did. They kept putting her off... About a year
later
| she
| | went to a credit union and they gave her one, no problem. She
has
| checks,
| | debit card, etc. She closed her savings account at the bank and
put
| it
| in
| | the credit union. Wasn't just one bank but all she tried here.
Banks
| are
| | under different guidelines (goverenment) or something.
| |
| | I wonder if the REAL terrorists are laughing at us? (I was
| reading
| on
| | another group that proms in some places are using metal
detectors
| and
| | breathilizers now).

I'd

| | | | A template or something?
| | | |
| | | | I have Publisher 2000 (also Word 2000)
| | | |
| | | | I found in a search (online) a page with tutorials
about
| money
| | management
| | | | that offered a printable check register but it turned
out
to
| be
| | a
| | | full-size
| | | | page (also a pdf version). I've tried to set the pages
| smaller,
| | thinking
| | | if
| | | | I printed 4-6 smaller versions of it one page I could
cut
| them
| | apart
| | and
| | | put
| | | | them together, but they only print one (small) to a
page.
| | | |
| | | | This might not seem like a big deal, but I don't have
a
car
| and
| | getting
| | | | something like this from my bank is a major project (I
ask
| | people and
| | they
| | | | forget. I could probably call the bank and ask them to
mail
| me
| | one)
| | One
| | | | comes with a box of checks when I order them but at
some
| point
| | is
| | filled
| | | up.
| | | | I got the idea of printing it myself. Like several
pages,
| with
| | checkbook
| | | | size "pages" printed several times on it- that could be
cut
| | apart and
| | | folder
| | | | (maybe with a staple) to form a check register book.
| | | |
| | | | If I had a blank page from one, I could scan it, and
| possibly
| | figure out
| | | | how to set it up on a page (my printer has two sided
duplex
| | printing)
| | so
| | | | each page could be cut and folded to make several pages
of
| the
| | register
| | | | book.
| | | |
| | | | I know, I can cut plain paper to size and fold it to
make
| one,
| | but I
| | | enjoy
| | | | a challenge- learning experience, and thought if I
could
| find
| a
| | set
| | up for
| | | | this (with the lines, squares, spaces for check number,
| amounts,
| | etc)
| | I'd
| | | | like to know.
| | | |
| | | | Thanks,
| | | | Carrie
