Default Formulas: Subtracting totals of different tables

Tiffany, here's how I got it to work for me:

1-I created two tables, put in some numbers, then used the Table Formula
command to get the sums.
2-I selected the cells with the sums and bookmarked them, naming them
"first" and "second" (clever, no?)
3-I inserted a formula field (Insert Field Equations and Formulas =
(Formula)), and, in the box at the bottom of the Field dialog box, I entered
"first-second," without the quotes, of course.
4-I clicked OK, and it gave me my result.

When I went to Tools Options View Bookmarks) I saw that Word had
bookmarked my sums from Step 2 above thus: []. I right-clicked my field from
Step 3 and selected Toggle Field Codes and this is what it revealed:
{=first-second\*MERGEFORMAT}.

Hope this helps.

I am trying to take the total of one table and subtract the total of

another table. I have bookmarked the tables as Table3 and Table4. I was
wondering if someone could give me an example of the formula I would use. I
have tried different ways but I get the message undefined bookmark or
incorrect symbol. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
