Outlook 2000

When entering the first name of someone known to be in the Outlook
Address Book, the name is not corrected/updated by Automatic Name
Checking.

I've tried deleting the .nick file, repairing Outlook, reinstalling
Outlook, adding a profile, deleting all profiles, deleting all address
books, yet nothing seems to get the functionality back.

Please help, I've posted here before and gotten no responses.
