Hi Larry,

Thanks for your post.

1. Does your client open the Excel files from local computer or from a
network share?
2. If your client start Excel in safe mode and then open the files, will
the same issue occur?
From Start--Run--excel /s, press OK to launch Excel in safe mode.
3. Has he/she installed any Antivirus Programs?

I would suggest you disable Antivirus Programs. If you have installed
Norton AV, the Norton Office Plug-in may cause many problems, such as
preventing Office documents from opening and causing Word/Excel to crash on
exit. In order to disable it, please refer to the following article:
