Default Access 2000 bloating on data entry

I have a database with parent-child tables where users enter text and numeric
information in a form. The form source is a query linking the parent-child
tables.
Upon entering 40 records in the parent table and 41 records in the child
table, the database bloated from an original size of 6.0 MB to 2.0 GB.

Try running your "Compact & Repair" utility. Do you have any image files
being stored in the database?
