Default default paste setting?

Is there a default paste setting in Office that can be changed? Right now,
if I copy and paste text anywhere in Office with control-c and control-v,
the text will always paste as formatted text like rich text format or html.
I have to use the menu to paste as unformatted text. Is there a way to
change the default paste to unformatted text?

Jeff

There is a setting in Word 2007 but not in previous versions (except for
pictures).

That's cool. It's not available at all in PPT -- any version.

Note that you can change the paste behavior in Word 97-2003 by intercepting
the EditPaste command. This macro, added to normal.dot, will force pasting
as "Unformatted Text":

Sub EditPaste()
On Error Resume Next
Selection.PasteSpecial DataType:=wdPasteText
End Sub

That was helpful--thank you.

What may be even better, and more flexible, is to set up a keyboard
shortcut that will paste unformatted text. How to do that is explained
at

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...429611033.aspx

The instructions there show how to reprogram Ctrl-V, but I think the
method could be used for any key combination you like.
