And you can use this to find where that XLStart folder should be:
Open excel hit alt-f8 to get to the VBE hit ctrl-g to see the immediate window type this and hit enter: ?application.startuppath Make a note of it and store your personal.xls in that folder. Macros for Excel 2000
The XLSTART folder is in the same folder as you invoke Excel from.
The easiest way is to record a macro and then find that copy of your personal.xls and with Excel down you can copy your old personal.xls to new location (delete the one you generated). --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "JHL" wrote in message ... Thanks to each one that responded. Apparently, the XLSTART is hidden or no

Did you find it or not? Normally the XLSTART folder is in (assuming an
install on C: drive) c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11 "JHL" wrote: Thanks to each one that responded. Apparently, the XLSTART is hidden or no one used any macros.
