Why does shape search not work?
I have some stencils that I have put in a separate directory on my computer.
I went in Visio and edited the file path to show where they are. But whenever I try to do a shape search, it seems the only stencils it can find are the ones loaded under the program files folder for office. How do I get it to find the extra stencils? I even tried copying one of my stencils to the directory under program files, one that I know has keywords associated with it, and I still cannot find it with a search. |

Why does shape search not work?
I have the same issue. I am working with Visio 2007, have created over 330
shapes with keywords, but I can't get a search to find any of them. I wrote to Microsoft and they suggested that this is a good place to start with this issue. Instructions are for Visio 2007. You might want to try this. Click Tools, Options. Click the tab "Shape Search." In the Shape Search pane, make sure "everywhere" is checked. In the Shape Search pane, make sure "Or" is checked. Click OK. Those settings were all okay for me, but my searches still don't work. Maybe yours will. --Colleen in snowy Illinois "dwil49" wrote: I have some stencils that I have put in a separate directory on my computer.
