Office Ultimate 2007 installation problem.

I bought Office Ultimate 2007 on the Microsoft site and downloaded it. (It
was with student discount. I am not sure whether I am eligible to tech
support). My computer has Windows XP. Has 2GB of RAM memory and 2.8 GHz
speed.

After downloading application from Microsoft site I attempted to install it.
Installation got stuck on the "Error 1309 - Error reading from file
e:\sku011.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Setup
failed. Rolling back changes"

E:\ is on my computer DVD drive and I was installing it from a file so it
should not look for the installation disk.

After it uninstalled itself i thought I am back to normal. Nothing farther
from the truth. When I called Word 2003, Word 2007 came up. The same with
Outlook. So I decided to restore my XP from the last point. After restoring
from the point it got even worse. Word 2003 and Excel 2003 was OK. But
Outlook 2003 gave me the message that "Cannot Start Microsoft Office Outlook.
Mapi32.dll is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been casued by
installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook".

After this I did several different attempts to recover from this situation.
1. I renamed MAPI32.DLL.
2. I renamed MSMAPI32.DLL
3. I Copied MAPI32.DLL and MSMAPI32.DLL from another computer that has
Outlook 2003.
4. I tried to uninstall Office 2007 from control panel "Add and Removed
Programs". I've got the message that the file is corrupted and I need to
install it again.
5. I repaired Office 2003
6. I reinstalled Office 2003.

Nothing worked. Outlook 2003 does not like MAPI32.DLL no matter what I do.
I am still waiting for the backup disk of this Office Ultimate 2007 but I
have gut feelings that I will not be able to install it. Besides I want both
Offices 2003 and 2007 live together so I need to recover from the problem
with Outlook 2003.

To summarize:
1. I cannot install and uninstall Office Ultimate 1007.
2. I cannot open Outlook 2003 because of wrong MAPI32.DLL.
Maybe somebody has any suggestions.

Only a single instance of Outlook can be installed.
Why would you need 2003, since 2007 can both open & create docs in the old
format?
If Outlook 2003 currently has a problem, upgrading is unlikely to cure
anything, and if the Outlook Profile is corrupt then you would need to
create a new one.
