Default "CATEGORIES" Questions

Recently I have been experimenting with using Categories instead of DLs to
organize contacts into groups and send group emails. There are two things
that happen that are annoying, and I wonder if there is a way to address them?

1. When I drag a category to my inbox in order to send an email to the
category, the category expands, requiring me to go back and collapse the
category each time it is used.

2. When I drag a category to the inbox in order to send an email, I get a
warning message that "Creating a new item from the selected items could take
some time . . ." I then have to close the warning in order for the new
message window to come up.

#1 and 2 above require two extra clicks in order to send an email to a
category. I send lots group emails, so this is very inconvenient.

Any way to prevent either from happending?

Thanks,

Version of Outlook?
1. No. Ctrl+left arrow will collapse a selected group.
2. Actions... new message to selected contacts should do it without throwing
up additional dialogs. (Actions, Create.... in Outlook 2007)

May I barge into this thread?
When I do Action, New Message to Contact (I have Outlook 2003) it adds
all the address to the "To...." line. Can it be set up to add to the
"Bcc..." line instead, otherwise I have to drag all the addresses to the
Bcc field ?

No, sorry.

otherwise I have to drag all the addresses to the Bcc field ?

Not difficult. Right-clickSelect AllCtrl-X. Select Bcc, Ctrl-V

unfortunately, no. dragging is the only way to move them to a different
field.

Thank you Brian & Diane, for your swift response!
