Default business cards in publisher

I am trying to make business cards in Publisher 2000 using Avery 8371. First
of all, there is no option for that template, and secondly I cannot find
anopther one that works. The cards are too high or too low when they print,
and they do not cover the whole card. I have been working with this for days
and cannot seem to amke any progress. Does ANYBODY have any helpful
suggestions? I have tried following instruction included in Avery, but it
makes no difference.

Thanks for the tips. That was one of the first things I did.

These are the standard 2 x 3.5 cards.
Page setup, special size, business cards.
When you are finished creating your card, print, page options button, custom options
button, set your side margin to .75 your top margin to .5 and the gaps to zero...

Is your card the same size as the
perforated area on the Avery stock?
I'm thinking...3.5x2? Go to...File /
Page Setup to be sure...also select...
Portrait as your Page orientation.

When you go to...File / Print...have
you tried adjusting the position of
the cards by going to...Page Options /
Print Multiple / Custom Options?

Here's a good place to begin...

In the Side Margin box, type 0.75".
In the Top Margin box, type 0.5".
In the Horizontal Gap box, type 0.0".
In the Vertical Gap box, type 0.0"

I'm still having to make adjustments. So far, I'm on my third
run...adjusting by tiny bits. It's getting better, but since I have a
graphic, I'm wasting ink.Once I get it set, I'll be ok. I'll be sure to post
my margins for someone else who may have the same problem. Is this a
Publisher or Avery issue?

UPDATE: If you set the top margin at .65 it's not far enough down, so as you
go down the page, the cards are printed closer to the top edge. Set it at
..70 and the last card loses it's border. Can anyone explain why this is such
a challenge to setup?

Piano player was very recently
heard to utter:

If the difference gets more and more as you go further down the page, the
error is not with the top margin, but with either the card height of the
vertical gap.

It sounds like your printer has paper feed issues.

This is not a Publisher issue. Your printer is feeding the stock incorrectly. Do you
have a lever on your printer for heavier stock? Every business card with the standard
dimensions will print correctly with the measurements 2 x 3.5.
Check out your printer roller.

Paper feed problems? Please understand that I have been printing on plain
paper first, then comparing to the template included with the cards. There
has to be another reason. if i change the vertical gap, that will not
correct the problem consistenly down the page.
