Default Office XP as media only disk?

Amazon UK are selling a version of Office XP for only =A375.=20
I contacted the seller, a registered company by the way,=20
who tells me that it's not an OEM or student version,=20
but "genuine software with hologram CD + keycode, is not=20
in the normal MS cardboard box and thus does
not come with mini manual hence cheaper price" and "Not=20
oem but media only". What do they mean by media only? Is=20
this an illegal version of the software, or a version that=20
functions partly only?

media only = cd only
They state full version + money back guarantee. It is a discontinued
application
If illegal and advertised on Amazon I'm sure there would be a comeback
there!

Media only = no license. You must purchase the license separately.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer,
asked:
