Microsoft has blundered big time. I think that the company will suffer
greatly with
this new product line. Bad concepts and design of these programs will
plague them for years.

The ultimate winner: Windows Vista. And you think nothing could be worse
than windows ME!
Reason: Every aspect of this OS is horrible. From its looks, to all the
changes they made,to the things they should have done but didn't, they
took XP and twisted it into a monstrosity.

Worse browser: IE7 wins this title hands down. Its non customizable
interface with
bad design, its poorly implemented tabs, and the multitude of bugs makes
this software of beta quality and never should have been released.

Worse Office suite: Office 2007 because of its huge bloat, and the ribbon
(the new toolbar), which will go down in history as the stupidest
interface ever implemented in an office program.

Worse Media player: WMP11. Because it is damn ugly and failed to add the
things people really needed.

Worse email client: Windows live mail desktop, because the design follows
the
same concepts of vista, again they took outlook express... and made a
monster out of it.

Having said all that, I have to say that there is one stand alone MS
product that is good,
IF you tweak it and customize it. Live messenger 8

The bright side to all this, is that the failures of the above software
will open up the doors to new
developers, to make new innovative applications that will provide service
and joy to humanity in 2007.

Besides being "fantastic", what do you get with Vista that you don't get
with XP other than the anti piracy crap, the DRM crap, the high price

You are free to your opinion...
But I can assure you that vista is NOT faster than XP if they are both
installed
fresh and compared on the same machine. Vista is faster to load and shut
down,
but while it is running it is slower.

The people who say that, are probably comparing their old installation of XP
that had lots of applications and trash on it, with the new install of
vista. New installations are always considerably faster.. yet if you install
the same amount of programs, and with time, vista will be bogged down.. and
because it is a resource hog it will be much slower than XP. I am talking
here from experience.. I have tested vista thoroughly.
Not just installed once on a laptop as you have.

An example of what I am saying here.. is that after having vista on a
computer, I formated and reinstalled XP. I was amazed that the pc came alive
again. I can easily say that it was 20- 30 % faster with XP compared to
Vista. This machine is a P4 2.6 Ghz
with 1.2 Gb ram.

BTW I am not a troll

I didn't test XP and Vista head to head but if you ask me I'd rather believe
Jim [1], not you. Do you have any source/stats on head-to-head tests to
share?

[1] Jim Allchin talks about XP/Vista comparative performance in the middle
of the first half of following video:

Well, you have to better understand all aspects of this term. Personally, I
find your constant negative posts in this group exactly trolling. The reason
isn't your point of view on Vista or vaildity of your argumets. The reason
is that this community is all about Vista users who need help with whatever
problems they have with it. It is a matter of constructive approach. It is
simply not the best place for your posts.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28internet%29

Just look at it this way: If you come to some (any) established community
and start saying that the object this community is created around is bad an
ugly and just shouldn't exist - that's trolling NO MATTER IF YOUR POINTS ARE
VALID OR NOT. You see, t=it is not an absolute term, it is relative to
auditory.
