Default Contact Activities Column View

When viewing activity tab of public folder contacts, user can select columns for view. Some public folders keep settings others do not. Is there a logical reason behind this? (Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003) Thanks

I've never seen the activities view retain any folder settings after you
close the item.
