Default Table background color

I want to make a Table with black lettering and an orange
background for the top row, as like a header. When I make
my table, and select format table, and go to borders and
shading, i say to make the each cell in the top row
orange, it only makes the text orange, and leaves white
space around the text in the cell. Next i tried to make
two different tables, one for the Header row, and the
second for the rest of the table. In the first table, i
say to format the whole table, and make it orange, but
still i get only the text background that color.

The funny thing is, that on the computer screen, in normal
mode, and print preview, it shows teh cells as being fully
collored, but when it prints, it only does the text
background. can someone help me get teh whole cell block
to be colored?

Make sure that when you apply the shading, the "Apply to" setting is "Cell"
and not "Paragraph."
