Default Meeting responses not updating calendar entry tracking feature

I've searched out many posts today and played with Outlook rules and scripts,
but can't get this to work. I run Outlook 2007 SP2, which is not supposed to
have this problem due to the way the "sniffer" is reported to work.

If I set up a rule to move meeting responses (all of them: accept, decline
and tentative) to another folder (to keep clutter out of my InBox) the
Tracking on the original Calendar entry does NOT get updated to show the
results. Unless I MANUALLY open each and every response in either my InBox
or other folder, the tracking feature does not keep tabs on the responses.
Once I open the response I can just close them because the Calendar entry
appears to be updated as soon as I open the reponse. The Sniffer was
supposed to be updated to fix this issue, but appears to not (or my
installation does not have the right code).

I am looking for a method to automatically process the reponses so I don't
have to do it. I've messed with lots of rules and scripts (VB coding too
complicated for me as I have not written code for years). Frustrated and
think there must be a simple solution to this that someone has already found!
