Default TOC - Need Suggestions for Legal Document

I've inhereted a lengthy legal document where the TOC
has to appear a certain way. The following TOC needs to
come from the following test. The creator manually typed
in the TOC and I'm thinking there's got to be a way!
When I have 2 different lines of text that need to be on
the same line for the TOC, what do I do? Then for the
1.1 organization and Agreement area I can create a
style, but there needs to be a tab in between the two
areas of text and am not sure how to create that on the
TOC. Any suggestions would be great. I'm using Word
2003. Thanks! Caroline

ARTICLE I FORMATION
1.1 Organization and Agreement 1
1.2 Name of Company 1
1.3 Registered Office and Principal Place of Business 1

ARTICLE II CAPITAL CONTRIBUTIONS AND MEMBERS' INTERESTS

2.2 Capital Contributions 2
2.3 Capital Accounts 2

Here's the set up of the text:

covenants contained herein and for other good and
valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of
which is hereby acknowledged, the Members executing this
Agreement hereby agree to the terms and conditions of
this Agreement, as it may be amended from time to time
according to its terms.

SECTION 1.2 Name of Company. The name of the
Company is BREAKFAST CLUB AMERICA, LLC.

SECTION 1.3 Registered Office and Principal

I actually have the same problem. I also have 2 lines of
text which need to be showed on 1 line in the TOC.

Are there methods to exclude some headers from the TOC as
well?

THanks,
Douglas

Hi,

You may have to manually enter TC fields that have the information you want,
perhaps using cross-reference fields to the actual heading text. This is a
lot of work but less work than doing it manually. Take a look at the
reference Suzanne gave you. For more general background and examples take a
look at:
