Default can I install Office 97 Pro on Windows XP?

I have Office 97 Professional Edition (original CD), and just purchased a
Windows XP Home Edition computer. Can I install my Office 97 on my Windows
XP? or do I need to purchase a newer version of Office (more) compatible with
the XP system?
