Default text box formatting

When inserting a text box into my ppt template it comes in as Arial black
18pt -which I think is standard/default?

How can I specify the text to be a different size (or font) and specific
colour?

Many thanks

Baret,
Format the text box the way you want it. Then right-click it and choose Set
Autoshapes default.

I have the same question. However when I right click the text box, I don't
see "Set Autoshapes default". I don't like font size 18. Just can't change
the default.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using?

Are you right-clicking the textbox, or the actual text? One way to make sure
you've selected the textbox is to click inside the textbox so your cursor's
blinking in the text and then hit the Esc button on your keyboard. Now the
textbox is selected, and you should be able to right-click on it more
easily.

Thank you, Echo S.
I am using PP 2007.
I got it. Clicking different place and in different way will get different
menus. By quick right clicking the edge of the text box, I get a long menu
that includes "Set as Default Text Box". This is the option I am looking for.
If I click here slowly, I get "Move here, copy here, cancel" commends.

Thanks again.
