Combo Box not displaying correctly in Access 2003
I just converted a DB from Access 2000 to 2003. The only thing that
does not appear to be working is a combo box that displays 2 columns for selection to dictate the data to display in the subform. First column is a name/text, second is an ID/number and is the stored value. The first colum is showing up blank when you scroll through the listing, once a record is selected it sets off a requery to display related data in the subform, after this occurs the name/ text 'appears' in the combo field. I tried creating a new combo box for the form thinking something just did not convert correctly but the same thing is happening. The query its based off of is a simple sort query with the 2 columns and appears to be functioning correctly. I tried creating a new form with just the combo box based off a new simple query and I keep getting the same results, the first column shows up blank, I select a record, the correct name appears in the combo box, I select the drop down to search through the listing again and the first column remains blank. Any thoughts on how to correct this? I have other combo boxes in the DB and they are displaying correctly. |

Combo Box not displaying correctly in Access 2003
I have the same problem. I was told that my front end was corrupted and to
recopy the front end from another workstation but that didn't help. We also recently converted from Access 2000 to 2003. The same front end works properly on some workstations but suddenly stopped working on one this week. It was preceeded by an event that was not noticed until a screen notified the user that the computer would need to reboot. Thereafter every form with a combobox such as the one you describe does not function anymore. If you get an answer to this please pass it along. Combo Box not displaying correctly in Access 2003
I just discovered the solution by reading the Post on "Microsoft Access
Combobox with SP3". There are links to some known issues with the Access 2003 SP3 update. I followed their workaround solution and was able to regain the functionality of my forms.
