List the steps you are using to send the fax.
State the format of the message you are trying to send. State whether there are any attachments. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Chen" wrote in message oups.com... After installing Fax Services in window and after adding Fax Transport
Service as an e-mail account on my Outlook 2002, I do the following: 1. open a new mail message 2. choose in accounts box the Fax Transport Service 3. in the "To" box I write: "[fax:111-111-1111]" 4. i tried do it with and without attaching a word file. 5. i press send button. If i attacha word file, the file opens, and shows a window stating it is printing the file to the fax, and then it disappears and nothing happens. If i don't attach anything, it sends the message and then nothing happens. In both cases I imediately recieve a mail message to my Inbox stating (in Hebrew) that the printing to the Microsoft Fax couldn't be completed (it doesn't state why). By the way - if I try to print from a document directley to the fax printer it works perfectly well, but Iwant to use the outlook because I want to merge letters to the fax. Thank you very much for your help (I hope my English is clear enough) Chen Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote: List the steps you are using to send the fax. Your English is fine. Perhaps mine wasn't. Remember that I asked you for
the format of your message. If it is HTML, change it to plain text. You appear to be asking the Fax Service to render your fax. The Fax Service has no rendering capability. Neither does Outlook. So your message must not contain anything that requires rendering (like formatting or signatures, etc.) ------ Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] Chen wrote: After installing Fax Services in window and after adding Fax Transport Service as an e-mail account on my Outlook 2002, I do the following: 1. open a new mail message 2. choose in accounts box the Fax Transport Service 3. in the "To" box I write: "[fax:111-111-1111]" 4. i tried do it with and without attaching a word file. 5. i press send button. O.K.
Now i tries it in both plain text and rich text. In plain text i get back a slightly diferent message now, only saying that message could not be transmit to the address (not saying anything about couldn't complete the printing to the microsoft fax) When sending in rich text format - nothing happens I don't have any digital signature, and this is hapenning even if i don't attach any file. Any other idea what to do? Thanks Chen |

I don't see any difference between this format and the one I'm using:

When you type in the one-off address then leave the To: field does the
number resolve? What mail transports are in your Profile? What happens if you create a Contact with a Fax number in international format and select that recipient instead of using a one-off address? ------ Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] Chen wrote: I don't see any difference between this format and the one I'm using: [fax:123-456-7890] Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote: Try entering the fax address correctly. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=289532 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Chen" wrote in message roups.com... Hi,
Maybe I can help you cause I am using Windows XP SP2 with Microsoft FAX and Office. To send fax converting from Outlook mail message, "printing" it with Microsoft FAX is the correct method. This printing is to be done choosing file-print in your new message composing window and selecting Microsoft FAX as your printer. 2. choose in accounts box the Fax Transport Service Your step2 IS NOT necessary. "Account" does not do anything with sending FAX in Office XP. Microsoft FAX will take over the task once you "print" the message, and 3. in the "To" box I write: "[fax:111-111-1111]" This recipient fax number must be input while Microsoft FAX is processing your message. The message sent is then saved in FAX console not in Outlook after all faxing process is done. If you have Symantec "WinFAX 10.X" with your Office XP, things are more simpler, just pushing FAX button icon in Outlook will show you the FAX message composing window. You can do all tasks in the window. In this case FAX message sent is saved in Outlook2002 if you set so. Hope this helps. Duke "Chen" wrote in message oups.com... Thanks, but that is not correct. When sending a Fax message from Outlook, it
is not necessary to Print to the Fax Printer. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Duke Williams" wrote in message ...
