2 contacts folders, but can't find one!!
Somehow I have 2 'contacts' folders that Outlook 2002 searches when I try to
address emails. The first one is blank and it says that it can't find my address...but when I get the address book window, I can go to the drop down and find the second contacts folder and there they all are. BUT when I try to locate this folder, it is nowhere to be found...same name, everything. This has happened at work, too. The only thing I can think of that caused this was a sync between my PDA and my outlook. Any suggestions?? I know this is sketchy info, but though someone might have seen this before.. I have even had an IT person try to figure it out. Thanks. |

To remove the empty Contacts, click ToolsE-mail AccountsView or change existing directories or address booksNext. Select the Outlook Address Book and click Change. You should see both entried there. Remove the incorrect one. -- Brian Tillman |

OK, but how do I know which one is which?? They are both the exact same
name!! I guess I could export the address book into a file, delete both of them and then create a new address book if I delete the wrong one?? I played around with the last name, first name order and figured out which
was the 'real' address book...So I deleted the bogus one. Thank you VERY much!! Had you not been able to figure it out, the most expedient route would have been to remove the Outlook Address Book service from your profile, stop and restart Outlook, and then add the service back it. -- Brian Tillman |
