I have an excel add in that connects to an external
database. Ever since I added the add-in I get
a "Microsoft Forms" message upon intially launching excel
telling me that the application is about to launch
activex controls that maybe unsafe, and do i trust the
source. Is there anyway to say yes permanently so that i
do not always get the message as it is preventing me from
running scheduled excel programs overnight?

thanks

Which version of Excel? I have an app which shows this message in
Excel2003 and FWIW I haven't found a way to prevent this message from
being shown.

There may be a 'brute force' way of doing it (e.g. SendKeys or the
equivalent using APIs) but when security features are circumvented in
this way, the risk of a security breach increases. Personally, I can
live with dismissing the message each time and would expect my
security-conscious users to do the same. I can see how this could be
frustrating in your circumstances, though.

Jamie.

Alison

Open your Windows Control Panel and run Internet Options.

Select the Security tab and InternetCustom Level. Scroll down to ActiveX
controls and checkmark "enable" under "run activex controls and plug-ins"
