system rebooting
I have Windows xp with service pack. The problem is the system will reboot
itself for no apparent reason. I've already did a system recovery to no avail. I also did complete system diagnostics and nothing seems to be wrong. I've done virus scans and defraged the hard drive. It still reboots itself. It's very annoying. Please help! |

system rebooting
Keith, this group is discussing Microsoft Access, the desktop database. You
might get a better response if you post to a group dealing with hardware or o/s. There's actually several reasons why a machine might reboot, including bad hardware and bad power. If you are in fact running Access 97, it used to run the CPU at near 100% usage, which generates significant heat. Particularly with the very thermally inefficient Netburst architecture in the Pentium IV, a computer that had inadequate cooling could begin rebooting when running A97, but not necessary other software (or even later versions of Access.) -- Allen Browne - Microsoft MVP.
