Can't open .mdb file
HELP!
I just created a small database that I expect more than one user to be able to open and use at a time. This has been working for me--please don't advise me to split the db into a front end and back end. For some reason only one person can open this file at a time. When the next person double-clicks on the file to open it, nothing happens--no error message, nothing. The file just doesn't open. I do have a frmWelcome that opens automatically when the database opens, but I can't imagine that is the reason. Does anyone know what can be causing this??? I am panicking (manager expecting multiple people to enter status by noon) and could sure use some help! Thank you, Judy |

Can't open .mdb file
Posting 7 minutes to your deadline is very hopeful on your part.
Check the windows permissions on the folder where the mdb is located. Ensure all users have full permissions to the folder. (and sorry, but you really should split; feel free to post back when you experience the consequences) Joan Wild MS Access MVP Judy Ward wrote: HELP! Thank you, Judy Or save yourself the nightmare of a corrupted database and do it sooner rather than later. It's not at all funny when your database folds up and refuses to open. but if you've got cash to spare, Peter Miller would appreciate a call, I'm sure. You're just heading for trouble not splitting your front end from the back. Been there, done that, and I do not recommend it... but it's your database and your money... do with them as you wish. |

Can't open .mdb file
Can someone please tell me HOW to split the database to front end and back
end??? I have an access load table at work that 3 users entered data into for loading trucks. If one user had the program open and the owner (which at the time was me) closed the program it corrupts the whole database. Our IT department hasn't been able to do anything with it and unfortunately the last backup was at least 6 months old. I wasn't aware that it wasn't backed up automatically, or I would have been doing it obviously. We seriously need to be able to use the program before we get busy this summer. -- daddysgirl "Piet Linden" wrote: On Jan 30, 12:27 pm, Joan Wild wrote: Posting 7 minutes to your deadline is very hopeful on your part.
