Mobile phone numbers

I just installed Outlook 2002 and I was trying to fill in
a new mobile phone number for a contact.
The window asking me to fill in my location details
popped up and then changed the formatting of the mobile
number.
I live in Australia and our mobile numbers take on a
different format to landline numbers.
Is there are way to let Outlook know that mobile numbers
should be treated differently?

Yes, my dialing location is set correctly. Is there
maybe something I can do in my dialing options. When I
have a look at the dialing options, it tells me about
prefixes, but the format of the number it shows (x-xxx-
xxx-xxxx) is an American/Canadian format and does not
apply to Australia. Is there maybe an Australian patch
that I could use? Or is Outlook supposed to know this
information already? If not, is there a way for me to
turn off the automatic number formatting?

Nothing I know of. Masking of phone numbers in Outlook is hard coded and
based on your dialing location.

Well, thanks anyway, Russ. Is there an address, either
in the US or Australia, to which I could send a letter
suggesting this change for future updates to Outlook 2002
and Outlook 2003? I think it's a really important
function, especially considering more and more people are
syncronising Outlook with their mobile phones, and it
does affect the way the phones dial. It's also important
for users to just have the ability to display phone
numbers based on their personal preference.
