share contacts
Hello,
I have a 2003 Small business server setup, using exchange 2003 with Outlook 2003 clients. The company wants to have one central repository for contact information, the idea of the Public Contact folder and tasks folder was implemented. The trouble with this is that an advanced user was seeing that "linking" tasks with contacts or contacts with tasks did not seem to happen. What is the best way to centrally share and have one source for contacts, and be able to link these contacts to tasks and calendars? Thank you |

Thank you Sue.
Ths user knew about the contacts box. The setup was as follows: Public folder for Tasks with subfolders underneath for user1 and user2. Public Folder for Contacts. So would I be right in saying that linking information, emails, contact notes etc within these public folders should all work/link the same as if these folders were in their own exchange mailbox? The user needs to click the Contacts button or type the name into the Contacts box on the task item in order to create the link to the contact.
Or they can create the task while in the contact by using the Actions | New Task command. You still didn't give us much of a clue as to what "did not seem to happen" means. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "AANIT" wrote in message ...
