Outlook should let me remove contacts from auto completion list.
Outlook automatically adds name to a list as I corresponde and then makes
suggestions for completing names based on that list. It does not however, let me selectively delete names from this list or reset the list. I love the ability to auto complete, but not being able to manage this list makes the feature less and less desirable to use over time, so much so that I'm tempted to dump and reload Outlook. As contacts change email addresses, I need to be able to purge the old address from memory! I also need to be able to delete other bad addresses or those that are so similar that they are causing me grief. If there is a way to manage this list, please share. Otherwise, please, please consider adding this capability to future releases. Look more closely before you post. These capabilities already exist.
Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of the field. If your autocomplete list contains only a single entry, use the directions he http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;289975 To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions he http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q287623 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "cptnkrc" wrote in message ... We have a utility to fully manage the NK2 file. You can find it at
www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm. It's called Owtlook, though the problem is soon to be replaced by a newer, better program called Ingressor. Free upgrade for Owtlook customers. Current price 25, new price 35. Randy "cptnkrc" wrote in message ... Outlook automatically adds name to a list as I corresponde and then makes suggestions for completing names based on that list. The solution already exists and has been posted here weekly for months.
Simply use the down arrow to select the "bad" address and press delete. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
