Hi Audrey,
You could use Mail Merge with Excel as the database and Word to print, but since the card is going to be all the same you might as well just do the entire thing in MS Word, which is where you have to do your formatting, and choose the correct form, so there isn't much point to involving Excel. The problem with trying to print labels from Excel is that Excel does not provide you with Forms, and any little change you make to width or depth of cells can be critical, and may not work on another printer. If you don't have MS Word, you can do something from Excel but it is sure discouraged. For other things should you need to print from an Excel database with MS Word then I have a page on Mail Merge http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/mailmerg.htm --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "audrey" wrote in message ... can you please tell me how i can make my own business cards and print them please,as a friend needs me to do some business cards up, thanks for all your help in advance -- audy |

If you have it, Publisher is the program to use for that task.

re businesscards
Hi Audrey..........
I make my own Business Cards in Excel. They can be simple and easy, or quite elaborate. I start by setting the columns at 1.71 wide. This makes all the cells into little squares. I then block out an area 19 rows high by 31 columns wide and put a heavy border around it. The wide border makes it easy to cut them out later, as well as giving me the outside limits to stay within for my design, and still have the card about the right size. Then go ahead and put whatever you want inside the area. I use normal text as well as Wordart and .jpg's. Once it's how you like it, you can copy and paste several times over until you have a entire page full of cards. Then just print and cut apart. I use high-gloss photo paper for mine, but you could use regular card-stock, or whatever. I don't use the pre-peforated type paper cause I figure I would have a hard time lining things up, but it might work, just never tried it. It takes a little longer to cut mine out with sissors but I don't mind.....gives me something to do while watching a boring movie on TV, and I don't wind up with a "feathered edge"...... hth Vaya con Dios, Chuck, CABGx3 "audrey" wrote in message ... can you please tell me how i can make my own business cards and print them please,as a freind needs me to do some business cards up, thanks for all your help in advance -- audy |

Why would you watch a 'boring movie'? Watching TV isn't compulsory BG BTW, I use a scalpel and a steel ruler to cut them, I can't get a straight line with scissors. "CLR" wrote in message ... And if you have Powerpoint, it is a breeze to make your own, no matter how
fancy! And the nice thing is that you can then use preperforated card stock! I have set up a template for business cards, which works perfectly -- Hth Kassie Kasselman "Jim Cone" wrote: Chuck (CLR) helped me out a couple of months ago with his Excel business card instructions. Kassie,
It is easy if you already know how to ride the bicycle. g I'll probably just dance with my date and leave the other girls alone. g Jim Cone "kassie" wrote in message And if you have Powerpoint, it is a breeze to make your own, no matter how fancy! If you want it, I can send it to you!
As long as you stay within the borders, you cannot go wrong!. The nice part is that you create 1 card, copy acros to the right hand side, select both, and replicate down to get a sheet of 10 cards, delete the borders, save it under a new name, and print! -- Hth Kassie Kasselman "Jim Cone" wrote: Kassie, It is easy if you already know how to ride the bicycle. g I'll probably just dance with my date and leave the other girls alone. g Jim Cone "kassie" wrote in message And if you have Powerpoint, it is a breeze to make your own, no matter how fancy!
