Visio 2007 Pro Connector for Microsoft System Center
What's up with this zip file? I downloaded it and when I try to run the
setup.exe for Visio Connector for System Center Add-in, I get the follwing error: The following package files could not be found: F:\Microsoft Apps\Visio Stencils\Visio 2007 Connector for Microsoft System Center\Visio Connector for System Center Add In\Office2007PIA\o2007pia.msi F:\Microsoft Apps\Visio Stencils\Visio 2007 Connector for Microsoft System Center\Visio Connector for System Center Add In\VSTOSERuntime\vstor.exe F:\Microsoft Apps\Visio Stencils\Visio 2007 Connector for Microsoft System Center\Visio Connector for System Center Add In\VSTOSERuntime\vstor.exe.manifest ?!?!?! Did somebody screw up when they created the xip file, or are all these wseparate add-ins that need to be downloaded? |

Apparently I wasn't clear in my post. What I should have asked is why the
necesary components required for a successful installation are not part of either the .zip file, or the .msi installation file. And, since they are not part of either, why does not the readme or operations manual (both included) not mention that the required addtional files must be downloaded from Microsoft? I winkled this out for myself, however now that I've downloaded the files and placed them in the folders the installer is looking for them to be in, the VSTOSE is not installing properly. the user doc says to install this, doubleclick on the setup.exe or run teh ..mis. However, the setup appears not to work since it always blows up on the installation of the VSTOSE part.regardless of whether I run the setup or the ..mis, they both blow up on the VS part. I'd love to see what this connector has to offer, but I can't seem to get the installation to work properly. Unfortunately I don't have a server with system center installed, so I can't
even get started. However, I'd probably start by installing the pre-reqs as separate processes (the pia then the vstor) before even dreaming they might be ahead of the game and calling them from their install. al "Good2go" wrote in message ... been there done that as far as the separate installs.
I'm trying to install this on a workstation which the docs say you can do, but I'm having my doubts. I think this must be based on the computer configuration.
I had the same issue and found that the vstor file in the package was not correct for my computer. I performed a manual install of VS 2005 Tools for Office SE The vstor.exe file version I used is 8.0.50727.940 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83721 Hope this helps..
