cant find contacts and calender files
I use Windows XP. IMAP in Outlook 2003 Small Business Edition. After a hard
drive crash my .vcs & .vcf files are gone. I get all my data restored from professionals. But I'm not able to find my .vcs & .vcf files. Anybody and idea where I can find this files? I’m not able to find it in a working Outlook too. Are these files saved under .vcs and .vcf or does the system generate another file ending .xxx? Are this files hidden somewhere in the ..pst file? Any ideas? |

What data can you find? Is there in fact anything showing in your Outlook
Mailbox at all? Check that by Right clicking the Mailbox (top of the Folder List) and selecting Properties | Folder Size. Is there anything in it? In the Navigation Pane on the left of screen are you looking at the Folder List? Do that first, then click the Contacts Folder. Now can you see Contacts? cant find contacts and calender files
Judy;
Thanks for your feedback. To your question - yes I can see my mailbox and I used it w.o. problem. My problem is that I use IMAP. All my Emails are not on my machine - basically the are external and I work via internet with it. Contact and calender are safed on my machine. After my hard drive crashed I can not find this .vcf and .vcs files. Question number one: where are they? Question number two: are these file maybe renamed and somewhere hidden in a ..pst file? After my hard drive crashed I can not find this .vcf and .vcs files. Outlook doesn't use .vcf and .vcs files to store calendar and contact data. It uses the Calendar and Contacts folders, which are in a Personal Folders file (PST), the location of which is, by default (although you can store it anywhere), %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. FileData File Management will show you what PSTs you have open. -- Brian Tillman |
