Sending a fax via DSL or cable modem
I have an Access application in which I want to create a function to fax a
report. Can I do this with 'standard' Microsoft software? I am running Windows XP and am using Access 2000. From what I've read, I need to install the Windows faxing function through the control panel, but there may be issues with faxing via anything other than a phone line. Also, this may not be the right place to ask this, but I went to Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Add /Remove Windows Components to install the faxing component. When it brought up the list to choose components, which included faxing, there were several things already checked on that list, including Acessories and Utilities, Internet Explorer, Media Player. By unchecking them am I telling windows to un-install those? I unchecked everything that was already checked and then checked only the faxing one, but it seemed to be taking a long time going through the part where it said it was deleting things. I cancelled out, not sure if it was only trying to install the faxing function. |
