Upgrading Access 2003 with SQL Server 2005
Hi,
I am using Access 2003, and I was considering getting SQL Server 2005 instead of Jet. Are there significant problems with doing this(as in, will tables not append or update correctly, etc.) I could not follow the discussions on this forum about the topic so I was hoping someone could give me the pros and cons of doing this. Thanks so much, Amin |

Upgrading Access 2003 with SQL Server 2005
Searching Google for "upgrade Access database SQL Server" should get you
lots of info. It's been discussed many times. Basically, there's no reason to upgrade an existing db unless you need some of the additional SQL Server capabilities, for example, triggers, stored procedures, remote access, more capable SQL processor, larger database size, support for more than 100 users, online backup, etc. Changing the backend database requires work and some of your existing code or SQL will probably need modification. Why are you considering the change? "Amin" wrote in message ... Hi, I am using Access 2003, and I was considering getting SQL Server 2005 instead of Jet.
