Default Setting meeting to private

I know that when I set up an appointment on my calendar, I can set it to private by right clicking and selecting private. But, I don't seem to be able to set a meeting with another person to private. The private option doesn't come up and I can't find anywhere else to select it. Any suggestions or is this something that can't be done?

If you have Outlook 2003, there is a check box in the
lower right-hand corner of your meeting window on the
appointment tab. If you click that it should be private
for all attendees. Hope that helps.
